The Engineering Process

The engineering method is a series steps that individuals (engineers and developers) use to develop a product or a solution. These products or solutions are usually used in everyday life and may solve problems that consumers or users experience.

The students begin the process by defining and researching the problem. They also identify any requirements that have to be met. Then, they brainstorm ideas and consider what other people have done to solve a similar problem.

After a list is created, the students choose the most promising solution and create a model. This step allows students to see that they have made a lot of progress and can see their solution become a reality.

After building their prototypes, students test them to see if the work as expected. They can also improve their designs using the prototypes

Most likely, they will have to make many prototypes before their design is complete and works. This iterative procedure teaches the designers to always improve their designs. They can’t be satisfied until they’ve done everything possible to create the best design.

Whether your students decide to become engineers or not, the process of engineering is something they can use throughout their lives to solve any problems. They can use the skills they have learned to complete any project, whether it is building skyscrapers or making sneakers.
